KUALA LUMPUR, May 4 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Financial Planning Council (MFPC) is pleased to announce that the inaugural Wealth at Work Series (WAWS) will take place on 9 May 2026 at Le Méridien Petaling Jaya.
The Petaling Jaya edition is organised by MFPC in collaboration with The SmartInvestor (TSI), the principal strategic partner for the programme. Building on this momentum, more WAWS editions are planned for Penang, Johor Bahru, and Kuching. The programme is further strengthened by corporate collaborators — AmanahRaya, CGS International, Private Pension Administrator Malaysia (PPA), SALIHIN International and Securities Commission Malaysia (SC), who will also be present with exhibition booths.
This newly launched nationwide initiative designed specifically for non-finance professionals, with the aim of equipping participants with accessible, practical and actionable financial knowledge relevant to today’s evolving economic environment. The series seeks to bring together professionals from diverse industries to strengthen financial literacy and enhance personal financial management capabilities through key themes such as investing with purpose, retiring with confidence, smart tax planning, and transforming wealth into legacy.
To date, nearly 30 professional bodies and trade associations have collaborated in support of the initiative, including CFA Society Malaysia, the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC), the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Malaysia, as well as Balai Ikhtisas Malaysia (BIM) — an umbrella body representing a broad spectrum of professionals, including doctors, engineers and architects, among others.
In today’s rapidly evolving economic landscape, professionals across various sectors are facing increasingly complex financial challenges. However, many may lack the knowledge and awareness needed to effectively optimise and manage their personal finances.
As financial decision-making becomes more complex, practical and accessible financial knowledge is no longer relevant only to those within the financial services industry, but has become essential for all Malaysians. In response to this growing need, WAWS is positioned as a cross-sector initiative aimed at extending financial literacy beyond the financial sector by engaging professional bodies, trade associations, corporate organisations and individuals from diverse industries.
