KOTA DAMANSARA, July 14 (Bernama) -- Encorp Berhad (ENCORP) is strengthening its focus on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices by expanding sustainability awareness across all levels of its operations.

Held at Strand Mall, ENCORP’s retail shopping mall, the company’s inaugural ESG and Sustainability Awareness Talk themed “Promoting Sustainability through Awareness” has brought together employees, consultants, contractors, suppliers and mall tenants reflecting ENCORP’s proactive effort to broaden ESG education across its operational ecosystem.

The session was held in collaboration with Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and featured speakers from its Centre for Global Sustainability Studies (CGSS). Dr. Suzyrman Sibly delivered the opening talk on “Building a Better Tomorrow: Introduction to Sustainability and ESG”, while Dr. Mohd Wira Mohd Shafiei presented on “Together for Tomorrow: Exploring Sustainability Through Collaboration and Innovation.” The session was co-moderated by Honorary Associate Professor Dr. Mohd Sayuti Hassan from the CGSS and Associate Professor Haslindar Ibrahim from the School of Management, USM.

“Embedding ESG into our business is not merely about compliance, it’s about cultivating a mindset shift,” said Ahmad Harzimi Mohd Taib, Group Chief Executive Officer of ENCORP. “By engaging our employees and external stakeholders in meaningful dialogue and drawing on academic expertise from USM, we’re laying the groundwork for a more informed, resilient and forward-looking organisation.”

This programme is part of ENCORP’s ongoing commitment to educate, inspire and activate all key stakeholders from staff to site workers, to embrace sustainable and responsible business practices. It is also one of the few initiatives in the industry that integrates external partners like contractors, consultants and mall tenants into its ESG learning framework.

As ESG becomes central to national development goals and global investment benchmarks, ENCORP’s approach signals a new standard in responsible development, driven by knowledge, partnerships and collective accountability.
