KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 22 (Bernama) -- Fiamma Holdings Bhd is prioritising product diversification, stronger distribution partnerships and operational efficiency over the next 12 to 18 months as it seeks to broaden its earnings base amid cautious consumer spending.

The Bursa Malaysia-listed home appliance distributor said its strategy rests on three pillars — products, partners and talent — with expansion focused on smart and energy-efficient appliances, air-conditioning, cleaning solutions and healthcare devices.

“We will continue to focus on strengthening the Group’s foundations through three key pillars: products, partners and talent,” Jimmy Tan said.

In Malaysia’s competitive home appliance market, consumers have become increasingly selective and value-conscious because of cost-of-living pressures, the group said.

“While affordability continues to be an important consideration, we believe opportunities remain for products that deliver practical functionality, reliable performance and lasting value,” Jimmy Tan said.

Fiamma aims to balance product relevance and affordability with profitability, while strengthening relationships with brand principals, dealers and distributors to expand its market reach and improve execution across its distribution and service networks.

It is also focusing on employee capabilities, accountability and operational effectiveness to support business growth.

Healthcare represents another potential earnings contributor. Fiamma is developing its healthcare business across two distinct markets: medical equipment and devices for hospitals and clinics, and health-monitoring, home healthcare and wellness products for consumers.

The group plans to broaden its healthcare portfolio and develop relationships with medical providers and distribution partners, reflecting its view that interest in preventive healthcare and personal well-being presents longer-term opportunities.

Trading and Services remains Fiamma’s largest business and principal operating earnings base. For the first half ended June 30, 2026, segment revenue rose 13.5 per cent to RM175.18 million, accounting for 79.1 per cent of group turnover.

Property Development complements Fiamma's core Trading and Services business, providing an additional avenue for revenue diversification. The segment's revenue increased 77.8 per cent year-on-year to RM43.70 million in the first half of FY2026, mainly supported by higher billing recognition from the Group's mixed development project in Johor Bahru.

At the Group level, Fiamma recorded first-half revenue of RM221.61 million, representing a 22.2 per cent increase year-on-year. Normalised profit before tax rose 9.7 per cent to RM29.3 million after adjusting for one-off items in both comparative periods.

Meanwhile, reported profit before tax declined to RM33.22 million from RM57.94 million in the corresponding period last year, which benefited from substantially higher one-off gains arising from the dilution of equity interests in subsidiaries.

Looking ahead, Fiamma said it will remain focused on strengthening its product portfolio, deepening business partnerships and enhancing operational capabilities, while maintaining a disciplined approach to navigating the competitive market environment.
