MHTC AND MARRIOTT INTERNATIONAL UNITE TO TRANSFORM THE MEDICAL TOURISM EXPERIENCE

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 13 (Bernama) -- Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC) and Marriott International signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 12 August 2026 , marking a strategic collaboration to strengthen Malaysia's medical tourism ecosystem by bringing together Malaysia's world-class healthcare and Marriott International's globally recognised hospitality expertise. The partnership supports Malaysia's aspiration to become the preferred medical tourism destination by delivering a seamless patient journey that extends beyond treatment, where clinical excellence is complemented by comfort, compassion and personalised hospitality. 
 
Mandated by the Ministry of Health Malaysia to develop and promote the Malaysia Healthcare brand, MHTC continues to strengthen Malaysia's medical tourism ecosystem through strategic collaborations that enhance every stage of the patient journey. The partnership with Marriott International supports the Malaysia Year of Medical Tourism 2026 (MYMT 2026) campaign under the theme Healing Meets Hospitality, reinforcing Malaysia's commitment to delivering medical tourism experiences that combine internationally recognised healthcare with the warmth and care that define Malaysian hospitality.

Recognising that international medical travellers increasingly value the overall experience alongside clinical outcomes, MHTC and Marriott International share a common vision of making every stage of the healthcare journey more seamless, reassuring and memorable. Through the collaboration, both organisations will explore initiatives designed to enhance the experience of international medical tourists visiting Malaysia.

MHTC and Marriott International will also undertake joint promotional campaigns in key international markets to raise awareness of Malaysia as the preferred medical tourism destination where world-class healthcare meets exceptional hospitality.
